Located on the coast of the Gulf of Carpentaria, Karumba is a small town of approximately 600 that grows each year to approximately 3000 people through the dry season (April – September).

Karumba is a very popular holiday destination for keen fisherman as well as those people looking for a remote place to relax away from the hussle and bustle so many people are used to. It is estimated that approximately 100 000 tourist visit the area each year.

Karumba has a basic range of facilities and services required for every day living including a  Post Office, Bakery, 2 Supermarkets, Butcher, Café, Tavern, Police Station, Service Station, Mechanic, Pharmacy and Health Clinic.
